That's me and the U.S. Open trophy. I didn't win, no, but I did ride the shuttle bus with it.
Also, here's our most recent entry into the Wild West Film Festival... we shot this a few weekends ago, and they showed it on Saturday at the Lawrence Community Arts Center (or whatever it's called -- over there by the parking garage.)
It was fun, and turned out alright. Eric getting thrown into the dumpster got a great reaction from the crowd, and I think it was the single best "stunt" of the evening.
Lastly , here's a video of Weezer covering Radiohead's "Paranoid Android." I don't think I've ever posted this before.
What impresses me about it are two things:
1. How spot-on the band is with playing the song (that shouldn't surprise me, there are good cover bands everywhere, but still... they nail it)
2. How different the song is with Rivers -- also a great vocalist -- singing the song instead of Thom.
Updates from the Jones family, plus, whatever the heck else is on Seth's mind.

Fiesta fiesta!
Great weather at the Fiesta for once!
My mom came out, and Virginia and Judy were there with us too. With so many Grandmas in tow, Evey was treated to a dozen confetti eggs, a funnel cake AND a sno-cone!
Boyd enjoyed the festivities but faded early. Evey danced the night away. And you should see her new dance move! She really looked good out there!

The King of all Media
Boyd is such a busy-body, he has two laptops so he can keep up on all the world news.
I remember when I had that kind of energy... (See: this blog, circa 2009!)

Photo shoot from last September
We took the kids to a professional photog last September... we were really pleased with the results. We have a few of these pics in the house, framed.
I don't think I ever posted these here on the blog. Here they are. If they're a repeat, apologies.
The photos are so old... Bubba has had a few haircuts by now. Evey has lost a few teeth, and that red dress doesn't even fit her anymore...
Amazing to watch these kids grow before my eyes.

Evey's art project
Adro got some new something-or-other the other day, and it came encased in cardboard. I tossed two pieces to Evey and Bubba, thinking they might have fun with it.
After Boyd went to bed, Evey got out her markers. We started doodling... She really got into it!
Check out that Spider-Man! No, I did not draw that! Evey did! She used a stuffed Spidey for reference. Pretty awesome, huh?
This afternoon she added Aquaman and Iron Man (as well as Ariel and Prince Eric.) I drew the Jayhawk, Batman and Darth Vader last night.
Nice work, Evey!

Big Time
So far so good at the U.S. Open at Merion GC outside Philadelphia.
I only got big-timed once, maybe twice, while I had several people stop me to talk to me like I was big-time. I'd say the overall big-time score today was Seth 6, Big-Timed 2. That's pretty good, and on the upswing, for sure (especially if you consider one of the big-timers was not worthy of big-timing me, but now I know. Oh yes, now I know.)
Had one guy stop me and chat with me for a while, and I hated it, because the entire time I was like, "How do I know this guy?" But he clearly knew me. I didn't have the heart to ask him how we knew each other. But I did ask Siri to remind me to Google the guy later so I could try to find out.
Had another guy stop me and excitedly talk to me, yet he forgot the part of the conversation where he introduced himself. That was OK, I smoothed that one over by asking for his business card, so at least I know what he does now.
And yes, I am rocking a Captain America belt buckle at the U.S. Open. Felt appropriate.
Random trivia: Ben Franklin is buried around the corner from my hotel.
That's a photo of me and golf course architect Tom Marzolf on 18 fairway, taken today. The Hogan plaque is several paces behind us. Marzolf is such a nice guy... I'm pretty sure he's incapable of big-timing anyone.

Chivas!!!
Me and Adro went to see "Now You See Me" on Saturday night. It was good. A lot of build-up and a fun story with just an OK ending. But fun.
I took the kids to Jessica's house this weekend so the kids could play and so I could help Sis out. She had ACL surgery on Thursday, so she's on the DL. She should be back on her feet in 6 weeks, and she also plans to be ready in time for the 2014 NBA playoffs. She's in good spirits.
Today, hoops, work, housework. Copy J helped me move some shelves into my garage (thank you, Copy Jesus!) The neighbor's cat decided to hide in my Camaro (I left the windows down) and scared the shit out of me when he jumped out when I walked up to the car. If I had it to do over again, I would have jumped in, sped away at 90 MPH, then seen if it would have jumped out... $%&#@ cats...
I botched the spelling of cynical in a text message recently. Embarrassing.
Boyd is doing well, mostly (he's rocking Evey's old Chivas kit, along with a matching soccer ball, in the above photo.) But Boyd has been a stinker at times, hitting his sister, his mom, me, and whoever else gets within arm's reach. He's also fond of the word "NO!"
We're working on it. Hopefully it's a "stage."
Evey is good as always. Sweet. Unable to keep her room clean, but sweet.
