Asked Evey to clean her room. This is the "before." It may have gotten even messier in the "after."

Clean room? Not really... But she's trying. I explained how the clothes shouldn't be visible hanging out of the drawers... And that adding a blanket to the ground as a "hot tub" wasn't really helpful to our goal.

I'm kicking your ass when it comes to Valentine's Day

Yeah, I hit this today at the casino. Allow me to go into vivid detail now, as if you wanted to know all about it:

For Valentine's Day, Adro wanted to go to the casino. She had a few days off work coming her way since she just spent 8 days in San Diego. She took today (a Tuesday) off. I took her to the casino, an early Valentine's Day gift.

Let's recap Adro's Valentine's Day week so far:

Sunday: Spent about three, maybe four hours cleaning house while her and the kids were at church and running errands
Monday: Despite being at Kung Fu class from 4-5:30, made a kick-ass dinner for her and the kids Monday night.
Tuesday: Gave her $100 to blow at the casino. Upon conclusion of our trip... gave her another $400.

Oh, but I'm sure those roses you're going to get are nice! Ha!

Well, me and Adro are back from San Diego.

Yup, that's right — the kids stayed home!

It was the first time Adrianne's ever spent the night away from Boydee, and only the second time she's been away from Evey over night. The first time was when we went to see Radiohead in St. Louis back in... 2008? 2009?

Grandma Judy stayed in Eudora and took care of our kids while mom and dad hit the Golf Industry Show. Adrianne was gone for eight days, while I was gone for four. Yeah, that was another first — me with the kids without Adro.

It all went fine, nothing to report. We both talked to the kids on the phone everyday, and for me and Adro, it went pretty fast. The kids were happy to see us when we got home, there was a lot of shouting and hugging. Although I didn't get to hug Boydee until after he gave his mom a looooooooong hug.

So a huge shout-out to Grandma Judy for hanging with the kids for us for a few days while me and Adro were on the same business trip. It was strange at first not having them there, but like I told someone in San Diego, it was nice not worrying about Boyd licking everything in the hotel room.
